I am a CCISO and CEH certified, this garbage certification (Syo-701) is Typical - Excessive information for a technician. Inaccurate and incomplete information rife with gotcha quiz questions. Some videos (I believe four) were incomplete (seconds (19s) long but displayed on navigation as 15 minutes). There was also a video where the presenter says cut, and retake, after fumbling words. So, INFOSec/Coursera/CompTIA - do a better job. You guys are just making this a cash cow. I was able to get through the content or absence thereof because I have other certification.

You don't get a completion certificate at the end of course. very sad. Lost my excitement.

Some test questions contained content not covered in the lesson. Many examples of regulations were US based. This is an international certification and should be instructed as such. The only international aspect was a reference to GDPR.

While I appreciate the effort to align this course with the CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 objectives, I found the content lacking in several key areas necessary for exam preparation and practical understanding. 1. No recommended textbook or study materials: The course does not suggest any specific book to follow along with the lessons. A clear reference to supporting literature would have greatly enhanced the learning experience and helped bridge any knowledge gaps. 2. Lack of downloadable resources: There were no handouts, summaries, or downloadable materials provided. Supplementary resources would have made it easier to review and reinforce key concepts. 3. Limited real-world relevance: Many of the anecdotes and examples used in the lessons felt disconnected from real-world scenarios. This made it harder to relate the material to actual security practices or job roles. 4. Not sufficient for exam readiness: This course alone does not provide the depth or rigor needed to confidently prepare for the Security+ exam. Learners will need to supplement this with additional study resources and practice exams — which are not included here. Overall, I believe this course may serve as a very basic introduction, but it falls short as a standalone preparation tool for anyone seriously aiming to pass the SY0-701 certification.

Videos were not complete. And some of the correct answers on the quizzes were wrong!

I crammed this course in one day and took the CompTIA sec+ exam two days. Later. And successfully passed. The info is broken down in a way that makes it easy to understand.

Good information that is quick and to the point. 2 of the videos cut off early and were never fixed. It won't be possible to pass with only this class. The information was clear but the power point isn't downloadable.

Lecturer is easy to follow, though some videos cut off very early so the course is missing some content.

Course content is decent, but very high level. There are several things that are on the Security+ exam that are either glossed over or not covered at all. It's good as either a very beginner course or, to supplement if you already have a decent general IT security background. Do not recommend using as a sole source for learning content to pass the CompTIA exam. The presenter seems knowledgeable, but the analogies given are too long and sometimes difficult to connect clearly with the topic. Suggest less time on analogies and more on technical content. At times there are minor mistakes are places were words or terms are mixed up and causes confusion. There's also at least one video where there are mistakes with retakes that should have been edited out. Also, several of the quizzes have questions that were not covered in the associated topic. Some are covered in later modules but makes it difficult to pass some of the quizzes.

Just to memorize acronyms

While i dont have a great deal of knowledge on the Subject matter, after completing this course i feel a lot more confident understanding the basics of what is an extremely large industry. The course contained a LOT of information, some good, some bad but all in line with the expected outcome of "Security". There were some instances where the quiz contained questions of content that we had not covered yet (if following Modules 1-14 in order). and im 90% sure that some of the correct answers that i gave we incorrectly marked. There were also instances of repeated content. e.g. incident response came up several times but it was a good exercise on reinforcement and seeing the explanations from different perspectives/approaches. Overall, i would recommend the course for anyone that is looking for a (Longer) and more basic-level of learning on the subject but avoid if you are already a professional in the field.
