This course was great and I really liked how everything was covered. Until the final project when suddenly there was a lot more MySQL required than was in the practice lab and no clear instructions. And all of the "help" was "This is all in the videos and reading" - no, no it was not - and "You just need to apply the concepts you learned" - no, I understood the concepts just fine. I did learn a lot more about MySQL than I had known before, but that is because I had to do a very rapid self-taught session to complete my Final project. This review isn't sour grapes, I finished the course with a 98% and the certificate. I just went from "wonderful course" to "most horrible course I've taken in a while" within one final project.

While the course was very insightful and provided a good chunk of information about maintaining data security and privacy, I found instructional videos to be rather repetitive after the first two modules and do not really correlate with what is expected in the final tasks. I also found final module to contain very confusing tasks with occassional parts which were not really covered beforehand. Out of all Data Management courses, this one regrettably ended up being more frustrating than satisfying.

I demand that The Coursera team should find a solution to this peer-grade issue. I have finished my work 3-4 days ago but I have not got any grade yet. This not fair and acceptable!

Very nice course with case studies and practice material

While the beginning of the course was very informative, well structured and easy to follow, later on the material just kept on repeating and some more points were added, just for the videos to last longer I assume. The final assignment was a definite let down, considering the content of the videos - how do you assume we're to provide a high level MySQL code assignment, when that was not even the point of this course. Either update your content to match with the SQL assignment and provide more knowledge on this matter through this course, or update your final assignment. I should've listened the reviews in the first place. So if someone's looking for a general knowledge of Data Privacy, Governance, Security, Risk and Compliance, but wants to end up screaming at an advanced SQL final assignment to pass this course - do it. Otherwise, find something else.

The content is heavily repeated (especially the Risk and Compliance sections) and the Graded Assignments are more of a test of your MySQL skills in their IDE environment than an understanding of the principles of the course.

The final project in this course is out of line with the course content. It focuses on extensive detail of tasks while the rest of the course covers concepts of security and broad topics. The estimated time of the final is posted as 30minutes, where in reality it will take 2hours or more, with extensive re-review of previous topics in the course including step by step follow-alongs of task completion that has already been done earlier in the course. The final project was so out of line with the rest of the learnings on Coursera I considered not completing and just ending my Coursera account. I hope this review helps the Coursera to review this course and update the final project to reflect the learnings and intent of the course.
