Easy to understand overview of the key players and themes in the healthcare system. Useful for an individual considering pursuing studies and a career in the healthcare field.

Solving the problems and challenges within the U.S. healthcare system requires a deep understanding of how the system works. Successful solutions and strategies must take into account the realities of the current system. This course explores the fundamentals of the U.S. healthcare system. It will introduce the principal institutions and participants in healthcare systems, explain what they do, and discuss the interactions between them. The course will cover physician practices, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, and insurance and financing arrangements. We will also discuss the challenges of healthcare cost management, quality of care, and access to care. While the course focuses on the U.S. healthcare system, we will also refer to healthcare systems in other developed countries. In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Very informative, detailed and clear. I learn some new things about billing and the hospital system. A good refresher course to tell where we are with AI and where we need to go for our patients.
HM
a thorough overview of the health care system and payment system in the US. In addition, the discussion about the potential benefits and harms of AI in healthcare is very informative.

This course is almost completely irrelevant to AI. A waste of time to learn it
Good course to get the terminology under your belt. You will understand how the money flows, and how outcomes are measured. I got a ton of value from the class and recommend it highly.
While an introductory course, most if not all of the information provided is commonly found in newspapers and discussion forums on healthcare and AI. Nothing that informative or groundbreaking given the course had a cost.
I found this course so useful for me. If you're someone new to the industry or already working and want to make an impact with your business or technical skills this course will be the first step.
Even though I have been working in healthcare technology company for almost 10 years now, it covers a lot of stuff I didn't know before. The class is really interesting, and it empowers me to keep going. I would really recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn healthcare.

If you know little about the healthcare industry and how it works, then this survey course is for you. I am switching careers and I knew nothing about the healthcare industry other than from my own personal experiences. I am extremely happy I took this course. The ethics portion of the course was also informative and thought provoking. I did not give it five stars because I was hoping for more AI information. Also, the certificate you obtain has several disclaimers by Stanford at the bottom, which severely devalues it.
great introduction into the intricacies of relationship between healthcare providers, payers, pharmaceutical companies, insurers, and the various payment plans and models in reimbursement of providers. Also great introduction to drug and medical device approval process and steps as related to clinical trials, and measurable outcomes.
Does not mention anything about AI in healthcare
Too lengthy , questions are not objective , instructor does not touch upon points that are meant to read and , enrollees could be other than medical field not sure why lengthy objective questions are put up , even calculations related question for non usa background person not helpful. Very disappointed with too much verbiage too lengthy modules.
I learned alot from this courses, especially about basic of health care. For examples how intermediary works, hospital policy, interprofessional, etc. The manuscript in each video help me a lot, because i'm not native speaker. Thanks to all people that contribute in making of this course.
Great overview of the healthcare system with very relevant examples of AI application across all the stakeholders (providers, payers, etc.) and many different use cases.
Fantastic AI in HealthCare course with broad topics about payment models, risk adjustments, ethnical considerations with AI models and much more. Excellent teachers!
Perfect Course. I have worked in Healthcare as an IT proffesinal for more than 15 years. This course restructures all the knowledge I gain in a readable manner.
While it doesnt go into a number of topics in depth, this is the most well structured and clear overview of US healthcare I have come across in 15 years
Very generic, it is not related to IA
kind of primitive and not useful
It's very theoretical.
