When it comes to this course, you as a "learner" get the feeling of the modules being thrown together with no organization rather quickly. You experience this within the "practice" quizzes and the final quiz at the end of the modules. Many times, you will find questions about material that was never mentioned within the module or even the entire course. Other instances you will find questions being asked then the source material is covered within the next lesson. You as the "learner" will get a sense of deja vu as some source material is covered more than once, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, when lessons are copied and pasted within the same module it shows a lack of planning of the lesson plan and awareness of the instructor. This was all just the "written" portion of the course and the videos pertaining to the actual models in which you do construct are not much better. When it comes to the videos going over the parts you as the learner will be modeling, you will find that you are following a "lesson" of someone who is following a tutorial of making and assembling of the parts. On top of the videos feeling as though the instructor is watching a tutorial herself, the videos are "choppy" on editing when the instructor runs into an issue or makes a mistake IF even edited at all. Personally, would not recommend this course to anyone, new to CAD or CATIA especially. If you have experience with CAD you may be able to learn how to not do somethings which, I guess, can come in handy. Anyone else who has beginner level experience with CATIA wanting to learn more, save your money and time and just do tutorials via YouTube.

An access to Catia for the course period would be expected.

I had never used CATIA V5 before. Because of this, I definitely learned a lot. The course, however, has many issues that annoyed me until completion and which are the reason for the low evaluation: - The quizzes ask questions that were never addressed before, neither in the videos nor in any written material. - The order of the questions are clearly misplace. It is very often, if not always, that a quiz asks questions of the next and not the current module. - Some videos have cuts without explanation. It is also clear that the instructor makes mistakes and instead of redoing the video without the mistakes or explaining how to correct the mistakes, sometimes they just cut and start from a point where the mistake was fixed. - Some videos are literally repeated in different modules, making you loose time trying to figure out whether there is something actually new in the video. - Modules 2 and 3 copy a lot of the content from module 1. Many things are repeated as if they were never mentioned, and not even in a way that you learn something new, but simply as a repetition to show as a "detailed look" into the matter. - The text material is useless. It looks like it was literally copied from a ChatGPT prompt. In overall, many of these issues show a sloppy/lazy course design. Given this, if you have never used CATIA V5 before, I believe this course will be helpful to get you acquainted with it, even more because it is practical and you end up the course having designed a nice assembly. But be aware of the annoying details mentioned above.

Instead of teaching how to do a hole pattern manually spaced out the holes which is very inefficient.

The pace of this course is excellent. It doesn’t rush through the tools, and the demonstrations are very clear. A very well-structured intro.

Coming from SolidWorks, I found CATIA’s interface less intuitive at first, but this course helped bridge that gap nicely. The practical exercises — especially the assembly and surface modeling sections — helped me understand how CATIA handles complex geometries for aerospace and automotive work.
