This is a fantastic course for understanding the given topics and getting a good intro into the forefront of human knowledge in the relevant subject areas. The course starts at the absolute start of high school level physics and really focuses on developing a conceptual and intuitive understanding of the physics behind the standard model and some of the math. It does go into technical detail but always keeps it refreshing with relevant examples and has experts in the field developing those ideas. The concepts of symmetry breaking and the Higgs mechanism are discussed in conceptual detail and the quizzes and tests are all from a conceptual and intuitive perspective rather than focusing on tedious calculations.

Fantastic course on particle physics culminating in the Higgs boson discovery. It is fairly technical, so you should know some elementary physics typically covered in the first two years of university. But the emphasis is on conceptual understanding, there are almost no quantitative /math questions, but the lectures do reference things like amplitude probability and conservation of quantities that will only make sense if you've seen them before. There are also segments with Professor Higgs himself sharing war stories that led to the discovery of the boson carrying his name. There are many instructors for each part of the course, and some are clearer than others, but the majority (80+%) are fantastic and there are regular quizzes to help reinforce ideas.

if your heart never beat during the seventh module you need to start from the beginning. Beautifully done. Congratulations to the creators.
