Top class. I recommend it to anyone studying on the subject trade, investment or evidence-based policy
This MOOC prepares students that want to analyse trade and investment policies of developing countries and emerging markets. We couch you for the task of giving evidence-based policy. For students interested in policy advise the course brings a sound understanding of what can and what cannot be done with well-established theories and state-of-the-art research. For students interested in research the asset of this course is to learn how to effectively communicate research findings in a policy setting.
Upon completion, you will have a good understanding of international trade and investment theories and recent developments in the world economy and their consequence on issues related to developing countries and emerging markets. You will be able to analyse the determinants of trade and investment, to measure the impact of trade and investment and to provide evidence-based policy advice that fits development strategies in emerging markets and developing economies.

A very rigorous course but rewarding at the same time. Course content, design and presentation are excellent. Commitment is the key to finish the course.

THE COURSE IS VERY INFORMATIVE AND GIVES THE TRUE PICTURE OF TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT

Interesting and broad coverage of topics related to trade and investment, although the part on the effects of trade and FDI on other variables of interest was way too shallow. Moreover, the difficulty level throughout the course, including the final assignment, is inconsistent: varying between too simplistic and unrealistic. Often, some short complementary information is missing to "round up" a topic or thought. The teaching materials are not harmonised. Particularly, the readings are not suitable as they often do not relate to the previous video and do not have questions associated with them. A complete PhD thesis without any further comments or instructions is not a suitable teaching material for such a course. The self-written texts often have basic errors in them, which have not been corrected, although the course is now already several years old. Instructors do not react to posts in the forums and do not seem to follow the course anymore.
I have done 4-5 MOOCs and without exception Erasmus University's courses are the only ones that demand and push you into expending serious mental and intellectual rigor. Erasmus Uni's courses make you truly apply what you learnt. This one is also extremely interesting. The course in itself is less longer than what is indicated but the assignment takes time and requires you to
