This course enhanced my knowledge on Water Cooperation and Diplomacy. The course assisted me to draft Water stewardship Framework at my workplace. The examples of case studies and the methodology the water diplomates used to overcome water hurdles was very useful and applicable to my area of learning.
The course has been instrumental in understanding the reasonable expectation. In my case, understanding from upper riparian country point of view. I feel, the course has offered much required clarity on fundamentals of cooperation in water resource benefit sharing. Missing the basics, many countries have witnessed a stagnation for decades and Nepal is one big example. Before taking the course, i has a vague impression parking my understanding to abstracts but after taking the course, i have achieved much clarity on fair share of expectation and responsibility. The course enrollment has happened in a time when the knowledge can be of must value. Nepal has drafted is Water Resources Bill after 30 years and the fact that globally mostly the cooperation happens when it is transboundary water resources and the institutions essential to operationalize the optimum usage of water resources for equitable distribution of resources has been enlightening.
